Glade Guard game ready model made for Bannerlord.
Inspired by the amazing concepts of Theo Stylianides https://www.artstation.com/artwork/PeZoD4
This is my first model using my own photo scan textures, yes I spent a lot of time in my wife's wardrobe. I am pretty pleased with the results and hope to improve my understanding of this process in the future.
The modelling process for this was a newer technique I have been using to speed up my character creation process. I first start in 3ds max modelling almost everything even using cloth sim where I can. This then has most of the Low poly done, add modifiers to the stack to add details and turbosmooth before importing to zbrush. This is a non-destructive method and enables me to add many details without losing the low poly. I then add most but not all details in zbrush and leave smaller details such as trims, fabrics weave, patterns etc. as I find this is easier done in substance painter. Which some may say what about curvature maps etc. not being generated, well now with anchor points you can simulate within SP, so no longer a problem. Out of Zbrush into 3ds max, modify already existing low poly as needed, UV unwrap and add to SP. Texture using photo scanned textures, made by yours truly. Then I run through 3 render engines. firstly Substance painters Iray, then Arnold Render in Max (Open GL Normals) and lastly a 360 in marmoset. This enables me to see many errors and play with many color and lighting setups.
Of course rig and add into the game engine.
Hopefully coming to The Old Realms mod soon and perhaps even FI3, you can find both here :
